FAQ

Is formatting kept?

No. TXT holds plain text without fonts, tables or images. We try to keep line breaks and indentation.

Why do I get an empty file or an error?

The PDF most likely consists of scans or photos of pages, so there is no text layer to extract.

What encoding is the file?

UTF-8 with a BOM, so it opens correctly in Notepad, TextEdit and any editor.

Can I extract text on my phone?

Yes. Open the site in your phone browser, pick the file and download the TXT.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Text is extracted in your browser.
